Location: Mary’s Well Square 6056/1, Nazareth 16000, Israel Next to the main square in Nazareth by the Orthodox Church.
Come Here For: Drinks, Dinner
What to Expect: I’m not going to lie, the main guy (Manager? Owner?) freaked out when I told him I couldn’t eat bread. But then a much calmer man came over and I handed him my English card and he told the chef to prepare all my food without gluten so we were good to go! They were very careful about cross contamination as well. I kind of had to lead the discussion on what I wanted (which was the Mezze) and then they tailored it to be gluten free.
We were traveling on a budget so I was a little sad when I saw the menu. The only budget friendly thing is the “Mezze” and the rest climbs up to 100 shekels per meal.
BUT the Mezze was delicious! It is 35 shekels per person and they bring out ten salad bowls where you basically have an all you can eat style and they keep refilling the bowls. We had three types of salads, hummus, an eggplant dish, a zucchini paste, a garlic paste, and so many more! It was really good but I kind of wished I would have brought my own gluten free pita (or sandwich) bread with me! But in the end it was delicious and I was happy 🙂
Where to Sit: If it’s cold out, you can request to sit in the room with a wood burning fire place. It is so cozy!
Tip: Bring your own GF bread for the Mezze or ask for a side of cucumbers and romaine to dip in the pastes!
Expect to pay: 35 shekels for Mezze and up to 120 shekels for a large dinner course. (WORTH IT!) The main courses looked so yummy!
